Resolving inconsistencies between Plötz’s descriptions and presumed type specimens of some Hesperiidae (Lepidoptera)

چکیده

Comparing specimens curated in MfN as primary types of Hesperiidae names proposed by Carl Plötz with the original descriptions and unpublished drawings reveals a number inconsistencies that we address. Lectotypes are designated for Telegonus labriaris Butler, 1877, Eudamus jalapus Plötz, 1881, Apaustus interpunctata 1884. Neotypes Netrocoryne seneca 1882 Hesperia irma 1882. ulphila 1883 is treated nomen dubium . As result these designations, following junior objective synonyms: 1877 Pamphila Möschler, 1879, latter two being homonyms. In all instances, satisfied, and, except A. , current application unaffected. Taxonomically, Callimormus diaeses Schaus, 1902, stat. rest. valid species, not synonym which subjective Eutocus vetulus (Mabille, 1883).

Detecting Inconsistencies Between Process Models and Textual Descriptions

Text-based and model-based process descriptions have their own particular strengths and, as such, appeal to different stakeholders. For this reason, it is not unusual to find within an organization descriptions of the same business processes in both modes. When considering that hundreds of such descriptions may be in use in a particular organization by dozens of people, using a variety of edito...

Chromosome number evolution in skippers (Lepidoptera, Hesperiidae)

Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths), as many other groups of animals and plants, simultaneously represent preservation of ancestral karyotype in the majority of families with a high degree of chromosome number instability in numerous independently evolved phylogenetic lineages. However, the pattern and trends of karyotype evolution in some Lepidoptera families are poorly studied. Here I provide...

Automatic Ontology Extension: Resolving Inconsistencies

Ontologies are widely used in text technology and artificial intelligence. The need to develop large ontologies for real-life applications provokes researchers to automate ontology extension procedures. Automatic updates without the control of a human expert can generate potential conflicts between original and new knowledge. As a consequence the resulting ontology can yield inconsistencies. We...

Resolving Inconsistencies in Evolving Ontologies

Changing a consistent ontology may turn the ontology into an inconsistent state. It is the task of an approach supporting ontology evolution to ensure an ontology evolves from one consistent state into another consistent state. In this paper, we focus on checking consistency of OWL DL ontologies. While existing reasoners allow detecting inconsistencies, determining why the ontology is inconsist...
